The film tells a story based on the Armenian Genocide. A young man, Nazareth Manoogian, is deported from his native village of Mardin. Soon he learns that there is a possibility his daughters survived the catastrophe. He travels to various parts of the world to find them. The scenography was designed by Allan Starski.

FATIH AKIN Born in 1973 in Hamburg where he studied visual communication. His debut Short Sharp Shock received the Bronze Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. In 2004 his film Head-On brought him the Golden Bear award and three years later The Edge of Heaven got an award in Cannes for the best screenplay.
